The S2G team is seeking an Operations Manager for our Louisville, Kentucky Distribution Center!

The Operations Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of S2G’s daily operations and will be responsible for overseeing various operational activities to meet company goals and objectives. The primary focus will be on optimizing processes, managing resources, adhering to budgets, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the operations team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a hands-on approach to problem solving.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of operations staff, including supervisors, leads, and warehouse associates, to ensure optimal performance and a positive work environment throughout the distribution center.
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to help individuals develop their skills and capabilities through quarterly check-ins and yearly reviews.
  • Ensure Leadership staff is trained and compliant on all SOP’s and compliance guidelines at the customer level, reducing chargeback occurrences.
  • Synchronizes customer release schedules to operational resources to ensure timely execution that meet KPI targets.
  • Oversees the on-time and accurate receipt/shipping of goods on a day-to-day basis according to various specifications and vendor compliance rules, as directed by our customers and vendors.
  • Implement procedures and controls to ensure the accuracy of inventory records and minimize discrepancies.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile records with physical counts to identify and address variances.
  • Communicate and resolve potential order and inventory issues quickly by working with other departments like IT, Sales, Inventory, and Customer Service.
  • Monitor order volume and product mix through multiple warehouse management system (WMS, HJ, and cIMS) across multiple departments within the organization.
  • Implement measures to improve order accuracy and reduce errors in shipment documentation and labeling.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and drive operational excellence throughout the entire DC.
  • Development of training tools and standard operating procedures, with measures and reporting, to provide operational metrics to the warehouse team.
  • Monitor actual financial performance against budget targets on an on-going basis. Identify variances, analyze root cause, and take corrective action as needed.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to optimize processes and achieve shared objectives.
  • Promote a collaborative an inclusive team culture where members feel valued, respected, and empowered.
  • Serve as a liaison between operational team and senior management, providing regular updates on progress and challenges.
  • Insures protection against product loss through security compliance, cycle counts, awareness, and management visibility.
  • Identify potential risk to operations and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations, distribution, or inventory control positions
  • Minimum 3 yr. management/supervisory experience within warehouse/distribution environment
  • Proficient computer skills working with:
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Warehouse Management Systems
  • Proven record of driving process accuracy through effective operations processes and controls.
  • Proficient in working with Supply Chain Partners to manage and enhance the flow of product and information between vendors, internal teams, and customers.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, executing quality performance standards with proven quality/order accuracy result.
  • Strong/effective interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Team player with strong financial acumen and proven results in meeting/exceeding team-based performance goals based on safety, quality, speed, and operating expenses.
  • Proven analytical and planning skills.
  • Ability to be comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on management environment.
  • Must be fully available during the holiday period from October through December; including Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, the weekend after Thanksgiving, the first and second weekends of December, and the week of January 1st. Candidates that are unavailable during these periods will not be considered as this is a company-wide blackout policy.

The successful candidate will receive a conditional offer which will be contingent upon a successful background clearance obtained through our contracted third-party vendor. The standard clearance requirements depend on the position and may include some or all of the following: criminal or credit clearance, employment verification, education verification, and driver’s abstract review.
